What is an SKG quality mark?

SKG is an independent inspection institute and tests and certifies the burglary safety of hinges and locks. If the product is tested positively on several levels, it will be qualified with a number of stars. The higher the number of stars, the safer the product. Three stars is the maximum possible.

What is the difference between a reversible key and a cutting key?

A cutting key goes vertically into the keyhole, as we are used to. This is the simplest and most conventional key.

Reversible keys can be placed horizontally in the keyhole on both sides. This provides extra ease of use, for example in the dark. A reversible key, unlike many other keys, does not have cuts with sharp edges.

What is core pulling?

Our special U-clip protects against core pulling, where a screw is turned in the cylinder to pull the entire cylinder out of the lock.

What is meant by hazard function/panic function or double-sided operation?

M&C cylinders can be operated on both sides as standard. If there is a key on the inside of the door, the door can still be opened from the outside with a second key.

What is lock picking?

Lock picking uses tools to manually manipulate the pins of the cylinder and open the door without a key. Advanced techniques prevent M&C cylinders from being picked open.

What is breakage protection?

With regular cylinders there is a risk that they can be broken, making it easy to open the door. The presence of an extra strong bridge in M&C cylinders makes them virtually unbreakable.

What is impact or knock protection?

Knock protection makes it difficult to open the lock with a knock key and hammer.
This is achieved with M&C cylinders by the special design of the pins.

What is a locking plan?

A locking plan is for managing access control in buildings. It defines which keys have access to which areas. Our MATRIX, COBRA, and CONDOR cylinders are compatible with locking plans.
